Talk about luck! ☘️ I was beyond delighted to find this fabulous haute couture Oscar de la Renta statement necklace at auction and shocked to acquire the earrings! Sets rarely remain together! Such a treat!

The resin marigold flowers and matching clip on earrings are dimensional and beautifully detailed. The earrings are comfortable and they stay on well . This necklace has pewter golden plated hardware with pave crystals that trim the leaves.

 Based on my research and information from the seller this Oscar de la Renta necklace set was sold in stores in the late 80s or early 90s and retailed for $825.00.

Oscar de la Renta vintage costume jewelry

 Oscar de la Renta is the founder of the eponymous brand that appeared in 1967. He renamed his line of costume jewelry – The New Classics! Oscar de la Renta’s jewelry was multi-layered, light, bold, rich colors, greatness and luxury. Traditionally, jewelers of the brand used Austrian crystals, gold tone jewelry alloy, multicolor crystals and enamels. Aged 82, the world famous designer died in 2014. The jewelry line of the famous house – collectible vintage jewelry, the price of which only increases with time.

According to his biography, starting with Jacqueline Kennedy, he dressed all the first US ladies – Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton. Twice he was president of the American Council of Fashion Designers, and in 1993–2002 he created collections for the Pierre Balmain house. In addition, he became the first American to lead the Paris fashion house.
