Vintage Sandor Enamel Flower Brooch

Sharon Harper Vintage Designs

$155.00

I have always adored enamel flower brooches and this is one of my all-time favorites! The “Robin Egg Blue” in this piece is simply gorgeous...it is slightly edged in gold with a blue/grey pearl in the center. The two leaves and branch is beautifully detailed. Sandor Goldberger was the MASTER of enamel jewelry!

Sandor Goldberger founded the Sandor Goldberger Company in the early 1930s creating costume jewelry designs of a wide range of styles. Through the years, the company produced jewelry of sterling silver, gold plating, silver plating, and Japanned base metals with enamel coated clear and color rhinestone, poured glass stones, faux pearls and imitation stones. In the early 1930s, Beatrice Grace McGowan became Sandor’s leading designer producing wonderful colorful and naturalistic enameled flower designs done in sterling silver metal. Her designs set Sandor apart from other costume jewelry makers. The company ceased production in 1972. Sandor jewelry is highly collectible especially the enameled flower pieces because of their beauty, wonderful sculpturing of the metal and their incredible likeness to the real thing.

This brooch in soft hues is an excellent example of Sandor’s  magnificent enamel flowers.
