Vintage 1940s Gold and Pearl Dress Clip with Kenneth Jay Lane Pearls
This elegant 1940s gold and pearl dress clip came from an auction house in New York. Engraved on the back of the dress clip is the word “Paris” and a patent pending number. The details on the flowers are amazing! Great workmanship!
The pearls are KJL! Kenneth Jay Lane is known throughout the world for being the "Master of Fakes" his incredible life is documented in his book called, "Faking It" which debuted in 1996. KJL started designing at Dior and from there struck out on his own, garnering the approval of actors like Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, who wore the iconic five strand pearl necklace design by Lane in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Former first ladies Jackie Kennedy, Barbara Bush and Nancy Reagan, as well as Princess Diana, were also fans.
