Incredibly beautiful 1950s vintage Regency cabochon brooch with spectacular shades of blue. This brooch is quintessential Regency!
Regency is know for large cabochon stones set in japanned metal which is a black “lacquer” look.

The Regency Jewerly Company was founded in New York in the 1950s by Milton Polowitz. The jewelry produced contain spectacular color hues and high-quality clear, aurora borealis and color rhinestones, cabochons and chatons that were set in Japanned metal finish (the black-coal tar look) setting off the darker hued rhinestones.
The jewelry was sold directly to department stores in New York, Chicago and other large cities.
